Also, fun fact! by clicking in the left joystick and tilting it left, down or right when selecting a character, you can access the alt costumes that you see when there are multiple of one fighter! That's how you'll see a lot of tournament players using other costumes like Mechanica with a pink mech for example

Fun fact. There are actually different "costumes". They are color swaps that you can wear, they are beyond button combos the game doesn't tell you about.

I played 30 hours of the demo before finally being able to buy the game. I love this game

I don't know if is just me but it one of this game were it is just really boring if you play it for 6 hours which is bad for a online game. And let's be honest saying that it got screwed over by a good game is not a good defense 😂

I’m a big splatoon fan and not a big fan of arms and man splatoon 2 kinda killed arms when it dropped which is pretty sad especially if you consider how short the wait between the two games was

I love the fact that all the dlcs were free unlike the stupid things modern fighting games are doing. Which I applaud nintendo doing for this game.

The tournament back in the day wasn't exactly thrilling to watch, most matches are just people playing defensively until time run out and coming back from a losing position is simply too hard.

ARMS 2: LEGS

I can't be excited about arms with how lame of a character min min was in ultimate. I know it's unreasonable, and I know it's probably a great game, but the arms franchise's smash bros rep soured arms for me.

Switch 2 plz bring these games; Splatoon 4, New Mario Kart Game, and arms

I keep seeing more ARMS videos on my recommended and it reminded me of when it came out, and god do I have a smile on my face. I played it since launch but stopped for years, played competitively for a while and took part in online tournaments. Even so im glad people are looking at it now. It really is a great game!

I noticed low honor arthur is very twitchy and paranoid in his movements. A very nice touch. Its like he is always on the lookout for a possible bounty hunter or ambush. Damn near looks like he has parkinsons. High honor arthurs body language is calm and collected and confident while standing or trotting around. I was also very shocked to find out the blind guy beggar in st.denis is not actually blind. Actually there are two apparently. One seems to be but one is faking

There are alternative costumes, by holding down left d-pad and turning it up, down, left or right and pressing A, you get a different color for your character

Before Switch 2 comes out, I'd LOVE if ARMS got a sort of random resurgence, where a bunch of later switch owners discovered its charms for the first time! If it could sell another random million copies, that might send a message to Nintendo that this isn't an IP they should give up on! ARMS 2! Let's make it happen!

The best era of fighting games was the entirety of the 2000s. So many franchises were represented and supported. Some of the best games to ever exist in the genre were main stage games during the era and we didn't have Esports culture affecting the design of the games. Not to mention that we didn't just drop good games because a new one came out. It used to be that if a new game came out and people didn't like it then they just didn't play it. Now we just play whatever is being supported by the Esports machine. It's funny to think that people at one time called that period the "dark ages of fighting games" just because a new mainline Street Fighter didn't really come out until 2009.

The main issue with them making ARMS 2 at this point is that the development team behind ARMS is also the team dedicated to working on Mario Kart. That's one of Nintendo's biggest series of course, so they constantly have work to do on that rather than ARMS. I would absolutely bet Mario Kart 9 is considered a bigger priority atm, so I imagine we likely won't see any more ARMS until after that comes out, and even then ARMS might still be left alone. 1 2 Switch getting a sequel also really has no bearing on what happens with ARMS, since there's a whole Nintendo development team dedicated to the more casual and experimental games like 1 2 Switch. 1 2 Switch is one of their most popular games, so it was natural it would get a sequel, unlike how ARMS is vastly overshadowed by Mario Kart.

Would love to see a platformer storyline or something for the sequel

street fighter 6 is pretty great got it the day it came out and its a blast to play with friends as for the others never really liked MK from the little i played the series so kinda just ignored that a new one came out as for tekken a friend bought me 7 awhile ago before 8 came out and i just could not get into it maybe it would be different with 8 but the game is to expensive for me to risk spending money on a game i wont end up playing much

I do disagree about this being a good era for fighting games, mainly because there are only 3 big ones. Series like Dead or Alive and Virtua Fighter helped on the 3D front and, while King of Fighters is still around, the lack of many of SNK's series also leaves a bit of a void.

I have one criticism. How the hell did you make it through this whole video and not even MENTION that Heavenly Melody?! That is the best song in the game... 3 games in a row, and keeps setting heights you're convinced can't get better.

Arms does have different colors for the players if you hold down the left joystick and face it in any direction it changes the color.

About a year back my best mate came round my house and we ended up playing ARMS for about 3 hours and it was great fun

I see so much more potential for a new ARMS game! This game is probably the most fun I had with motion controls!

this video actually made me dig out my copy of ARMS and play it again and even though it was 7 years ago, i felt nostalgic for this game since this legit was my first switch game

I really love this game, I remember seeing all the trailers for it and getting hyped for it even though I couldnt afford it, but my parents got it for my birthday and it became my second most played after Splat2. I remember I got around the same time they introduced the random Springtron boss battle on the GP if you got a Perfect on 7 and above.
